This was an experiment using the same pieces of fabric to create letters, in this particular example, I challenged myself to create the alphabet by changing them on the spot and not have them shift too much and for the letters to be the same size.
For this experiment, I wanted to use strokes to create letters, while experimenting I realized it looked a lot like paper, I was interested in how I could make it so that it was only possible with fabric and just by creating a ''neater'' version of it, it already made a step in that direction.
This experiment was about layering and transparency, it was hard to capture this on a photo as I needed the right angle and a lot of light. I also found out that it doesn't work with other fabrics as well as with this one. If I would continue with this I would like to work more with how to make it visible on a screen and still have the same effect as in real life.
The one-line experiment was quite spontaneous and was one of the first experiments I did, what I found interesting about this one is that it can create very fluid looking shapes and works well for round shapes especially.

This was an experiment about folding, the pleats interested me the most, if I would continue this I would try out an origami-style of folding and see how I could shape it more like the letter I want it to look like.
What could it be used for?
- A movie title
- could be used as a font in a playful way in for example a stop motion.
- the technique itself could be used to make images with as well.
What could it be used for?
- it reminds me of those old cinema signs, it could work in a system like that.
- when I look at the fabric it lets me think of a tent.
- this could be a flag
What could it be used for?
- this one should be in a sunny area, it could be a sign in the Keukenhof because of the flowers.
- It could be used as a logo for beach balls
What could it be used for?
- I had to think of monograms, this could be a tool for starting on them.
- this could also turn into an elegant looking font.
What could it be used for?
- This one is quite hard but I think it looks playful so maybe it could be like educational pillows at a daycare
- it could be a balloon.
What could it be used for?
- this shape looks like a leaf, it could be a logo sign for a wood company
- I also think it looks like an arrow so it could turn into a series of signs.
